The Hellenic Culture Centre is a private organization specialized in teaching Greek as a Second and as a Foreign Language. The promotion of the Greek Language and the Greek Culture worldwide as well as the development of the linguistic and intercultural skills in every citizen in the framework of the multicultural environment are its aims.

It started working in 1995 on Ikaria island, Aegean Sea, where it organized with great success during ten years one of the first summer schools for Greek in Greece, with Greek courses, cultural activities and teacher training for teachers of Greek as a foreign language. It continued its actions in Athens, where it is now based, and in selected places in Greece and abroad (Lesvos Island, Aegean Sea- Brussels).

Teacher training in didactic Methodology is complemented by seminars in Intercultural Education, in Adult Education and Education for Peace.

The Centre's staff is experienced and specialized teachers (philologists, linguists, translators) as well as special associates (lawyers, economists, social anthropologists, sociologists, political scientists) who work in teaching and research fields. It cooperates with relevant organizations in Greece and abroad and participates in national, European and international projects.

Face to face extensive course for Beginners (A0)

 

8 weeks - 48 hours (1 hour is 60 minutes)

Where: At the HCC’s premises in the centre of Athens, 18 Derigny St, 5th floor, Victoria Square and metro station.
When: From October 14 to December 6, Tuesdays and Thursdays 18:00 to 21:15 (15 min break at 19:30). 
Training fee: 500 euro (for a group of at least 5 students).

Note: For groups of 3-4 persons the training fee is 600 euro per person. Semi-private course (2 persons): 20 euro per hour/ person. Private course: 30 euro per hour.

 
Online Greek Language Courses PDF Print E-mail

The Hellenic Culture Centre offers online Greek Language Courses in all language levels (Α0, Α1, Α2, Β1,Β2, C1, C2) as well as special preparation courses for the Certificate of Attainment in Greek in all levels.

All the language teachers at the Hellenic Culture Centre are certified and experienced in teaching Greek as a second and as a foreign language to adults and adolescents. They also have experience in online teaching and they are native speakers of Greek.

Courses are held through the electronic online educational platform Moodle and the educational platform GLOSSA, where all relevant learning materials are uploaded (texts, exercises and activities for all language skills, library) as well as through synchronous Skype meetings.

No special knowledge on technology is required, however two introductory sessions are offered for free, in order for the students to familiarize themselves with the use of the platform and Skype. Students are required to have a good internet connection and a headset with a microphone.

One educational hour is 60 minutes.

The HELLENIC CULTURE CENTRE www.hcc.edu.gr and AKAKIA editions www.akakia.gr ( Athens-London) announce the publication of levels C1 and C2 in the KALEIDOSKOPIO book series on teaching Greek as a foreign/second language
The KALEIDOSKOPIO series aims at providing non-greek speaking students with as complete and multifaceted picture of contemporary Greek reality as it is possible.
It aspires to touch upon the agonies, joys, enthusiasm, fears, achievements and challenges experienced by Greeks today through the presentation of aspects of the Greek society.
Furthermore, the books aim at rendering students capable to communicate and have their knowledge certified by sitting in the Greek Language Certification exams of the Centre of Greek Language (KEG) or other organisations/institutes, which organise, or are about to organise similar Certification exams in accordance to the European Languages Portfolio and the Centre for the Greek Language levels as described by the presidential decree published in the governmental gazette (Π.Δ. 60/30-6-2010 ΦΕΚ A’ 98).
The student books KALEIDOSKOPIO C1 book a and KALEIDOSKOPIO C2 book a (which is published in printed and electronic version) are supplemented by:
• The COMPANION BOOKS (also in electronic version) which are included in the printed version (second part of the printed version)
• The CDs KALEIDOSKOPIO C1- book a and KALEIDOSKOPIO C2 book a (2 CDs for each book) which include texts from the Student book as well as the Companion book for all levels.
• Support through seminars and consulting offered to the teachers by the Hellenic Culture Centre along with access to a supplementary materials databank which can be used in teaching and can be found on the HCC’s web site http://learning.bemobile.gr
• The books support also the electronic platform GLOSSA for teaching Greek, levels C1 and C2 www.ellinikiglossa.eu, which contains additional texts and exercises for learners and is continually updated. On line learning is also provided through this platform.
