Meeting in Vienna, 26-29 November 2009 The Hellenic Culture Centre traveled to Vienna with the project "Cross Cultural Friends". Our host was Sabine Wiesmayer and the friends and learner of the Language Centre Das Sympathische Sprachtraining. Approximately 30 persons took part at this meeting, coming from Spain, Italy, England, France and Poland. During the meeting the Centre's associate Vassia Kossiva presented the Greek food customs under the title "Eating and enjoying it... in Greece" (the presentation was prepared by learners of the Hellenic Culture Centre). A similar presentation on food customs was made by participants from Cornwall. The Spanish students of Escuela Oficial de Idiomas of Pozuelo presented the Spanish hotel chain "Paradores". The presentations were attended by representatives of the Spanish Tourism Organization and the "Paradores" hotels. The group visited important site of the city, around the themes of Music and The Arts, participated in a Viennese Waltz class that was organized by our hosts, and baked Christmas sweets with the people of the village Hennesdorf, near Vienna, who welcomed us heartily. The next meeting of the project will take place in Cornwall, England, in March 2010 |
