Intensive Greek language courses for non native Speakers are offered, under the supervision of the Hellenic Culture Centre, a well known Greek Language institution which is included in the lists of recognised schools of the European Commission, the European Parliament, the Yale University, et al.
The courses are intended for: • Visitors or residents of Greece • Professionals who work with Greek language (interpreters/ translators, teachers of Ancient Greek, embassy officers, employees in enterprises, etc) • Foreign students in Hellenic Studies Programmes in Universities abroad as well as foreign students of Universities in Greece • Greeks living abroad • Anyone who wishes to improve her/ his Greek or start learning the language

Classes are supplemented by educational and cultural activities meant to encourage students to discover and experience modern Greece through the various lenses of its rich culture.
Our courses have been approved for the Comenius/ Grundtvig training data base for individual in-service training grants. Persons interested may get an individual grant to cover their expences. Please contact us for further information.
Notes: - For every extra week of lessons after the fourth week, the fees are 325 euros for the levels Beginners 1 to Advanced 1 and 400 euros for the level Advanced 2 and all special courses. - Only one or two-week programmes are offered for the Literature course and Katharevousa course. A private lesson can be arranged for longer periods. Please contact the secretariat.
The fees for the language group programmes include: • All the necessary books and other educational materials • 2 hours of Greek language instruction every day • 2 hours of Greek language workshop every day Language games Communication activities Presentations and lectures by Greek intellectuals, writers, artists, local politicians, everyday people Presentations on Greek culture Film projection and conversation Presentation of projects by the students • 2 hours of cultural and educational activities every day, which constitute an integral component of the programme Presentations on history, the arts and society Greek dance lesson Greek cookery class Cultural walks and visits • Access to the Internet and to the Centre's video and music archives and to the village's library • Students are accompanied by a staff member in order to follow the island's rich cultural life: feasts, concerts, public lectures, theatre, cinema, exhibitions, etc (tickets to these events are not included in the fees)
PRIVATE TUITION AND TAILOR-MADE PROGRAMMES
Private language courses at any level are also organized. The cost of a private language course is 40 euro/hour (for the levels Beginners 1 - Advanced 1) and 50 euro/hour (for Advanced 2 and all the special courses).
Private language courses' daily schedule: 11.30 - 13.30 or 16.30 - 18.30. Students who are interested in special courses which are not included in the 2010 schedule can attend a private course.
Tailor-made courses (individual or in small groups) designed according to your interests/needs are organised too.
SPECIAL OFFERS and NOTES for the LANGUAGE PROGRAMME • Former students of the Hellenic Culture Centre or Aeolis will be offered a 10% discount on the Language Programme • Students who invite another student to attend the Greek Language and Culture programme will be offered an extra 5% discount • Early Booking Discount: 20 euros for the Levels Beginners 1- Advanced 1 and 30 Euros for Advanced 2 and all special courses. Early booking price is approved only in case of sending the bank receipt of the whole amount of the fees via e-mail or fax, 90 days before the beginning of each course • One teaching hour is 60 minutes.
