The Hellenic Culture Centre is a private organization specialized in teaching Greek as a Second and as a Foreign Language. The promotion of the Greek Language and the Greek Culture worldwide as well as the development of the linguistic and intercultural skills in every citizen in the framework of the multicultural environment are its aims.
It started working in 1995 on Ikaria island, Aegean Sea, where it organized with great success during ten years one of the first summer schools for Greek in Greece, with Greek courses, cultural activities and teacher training for teachers of Greek as a foreign language. It continued its actions in Athens, where it is now based, and in selected places in Greece and abroad (Lesvos Island, Aegean Sea- Brussels).
Teacher training in didactic Methodology is complemented by seminars in Intercultural Education, in Adult Education and Education for Peace.
The Centre's staff is experienced and specialized teachers (philologists, linguists, translators) as well as special associates (lawyers, economists, social anthropologists, sociologists, political scientists) who work in teaching and research fields. It cooperates with relevant organizations in Greece and abroad and participates in national, European and international projects.

Intensive Preparatory Course for the Certificate of Attainment in Greek - Level B2
at the offices of the Hellenic Culture Centre (18 Derigny St, 5th floor, VICTORIA metro station, Athens)
8 to 19 April 2013
Duration: 20 hours
Lessons daily 9:30-11:30, except Saturday and Sunday
Fees: 400 euro
Contents:
• Vocabulary on the communicative situations: personal life in and outside the house (identification and introductions, accommodation, leisure time and activities, social relations, health) and everyday life (market, food, education, work, public services, travel)
• Phonetics rules and practice according to the students’ pronunciation
• Socio-cultural skills relevant to this language level (relations with native speakers, special characteristics and mentality of the Greek society)
• Guidelines on how to deal with time and different tasks during their examination, together with stress management guidelines.

Online language courses for Adult learners of Greek as a foreign language in advanced levels (C1 and C2).
From January 2013 onwards the GLOSSA project partners will offer Greek Language courses to students interested in C1 and C2 levels, at a low cost.
Fees are 300 euro and include
- 5 months of online courses through the GLOSSA educational platform –with a 2-week break after the first two and a half months-
- plus one month for feedback and personal reviewing
- one hour/ week synchronous online course through Skype
- personal support to each student
- certificate of attendance or certificate of successful completion

Grammar: alphabet - sounds - articles - genders - nominative and accusative (singular and plural) of nouns in -ος -ας -ης (masc.), -α -η (fem.) -ο -ι -μα (neuter) - verbs of conjugation A (θέλω) - verb to be (είμαι) - Personal and possessive pronouns - adjectives in ος-η/α-ο , prepositions (με, σε, για, από) - interrogative pronouns.
The fees include all educational material in photocopies and a Certificate of Attendance.
